One of the principle aims of Veterinary Ireland is to promote the science of veterinary medicine and the quality of animal and public health in various ways including the provision of opportunities for the continuing professional development of members.

This continuing professional development, or Continuing Veterinary Education (CVE), has become even more important to members over the past few years, and will remain important, if not critical, as the Veterinary Council of Ireland will be introducing Mandatory CVE for Registration from 1st January 2012. This means that in order to maintain Registration to practise veterinary medicine in Ireland, members will have to obtain 20 CVE Credits per year, or have a total of 60 CVE Credits over the previous three years.

The Veterinary Ireland website aims to promote CVE to all Veterinary Practitioners by advertising relevant CVE events on this page.

Veterinary Ireland members enjoy significant discounts for those events directly organised by Veterinary Ireland Interest Groups and Specific Purpose Committees, or for those CVE Courses held by affiliates and associate bodies. A number of events listed below will give significant savings on registration for members – so why not Join Now!

If you wish to advertise a CVE Event on this website, please contact Kira Murphy, Membership Services Co-ordinator at HQ@vetireland.ie. Please note that events will have to be approved for listing by Veterinary Ireland and details may be edited.
