As the representative body for the Irish Veterinary Profession, Veterinary Ireland has at its disposal experts in food companion, equine and exotic species of animals. It also has access to Private Practitioner, Local Authority, State Veterinary, Academic, Research and Industry experience in a multiplicity of areas.
Such experience is drawn upon in a variety of ways, and especially so in the formation of, and work undertaken by, the Specific Purpose Committees of Veterinary Ireland.
Up to six Specific Purpose Committees are active at any one time, and the current range of activities include Animal Health, Animal Welfare, Animal Remedies, Public Health, Business & Practice Development and CVE (Irish College of Veterinary Surgeons).
