The dog or cat that presents with the "Acute Abdomen" can prove a major diagnostic and therapeutic challenge for the busy practitioner.
What are the priorities? When should you operate and when shouldn't you? How best to manage GDV or the bleeding splenic mass? What about tricky intestinal obstructions or septic peritonitis? This course is designed to answer these questions and develop the key decision-making skills for these emergency cases. During this course we will address and discuss the major surgical causes that lead to the Acute Abdomen in dogs and cats. Using a selection of the types of cases that you are likely to encounter in practice, we will develop a structured approach to the stabilisation, diagnosis and surgical treatment of this challening condition.
